Jeer or cheer?

Last night was 10 in a row. Amazing. We all know what happened last time the Sox had a winning streak like this. Time to leave the Yankees in the dust, we need to win the division, which means we need to get as far ahead as we can now.

Also, Pedro comes back to pitch against his old team today. I'm kinda torn as to whether or not I should boo or cheer for him (from the comfort of my couch, of course). I loved him while he was here. I still like him. I just thought he could have had a classier departure than throwing barbs at the front office after he left. And he is a drama queen. The ego just couldn't fit on this team, not with Schilling being the #1 starter. Hmmm...he is having a pretty good year. Cheer it is, I guess.

Somebody's got a case of the Mondays

So, back at work.

I was at the game on Saturday. Yeah, the one where Big Papi hit yet another walk-off homer. But did I see it? No. I had to leave in the bottom of the 8th inning because I had to get to work. Of course this would happen the one time I leave a game early.

I have the worst luck.

Get off your knees, you're blowin' the game!

For once, I wish the bullpen would stop blowing wins for Schilling. The commentators last night mentioned that Atlanta's bullpen has done that 5 times this year for Smoltz, but seriously. He got a no decision in Minnesota (thanks to Tavarez) last week, and then one last night, and both games he pitched well. Seanez needs to go. First pitch. All he had to do was come into the game to almost lose it for us. Grrr.

It's unreasonably hot and humid in Boston today, and being on a campus with tons of pavement and not very much shade is not helping. Sitting in the bleachers for the game against the Nats tonight. Here's hoping I don't get rained on (again!).

Finally

Ok, so it's been really hard to update because I've been completely swamped with schoolwork. That's what I get for taking summer classes and trying to graduate early.

So the Sox are finally (sort of) out of their slump. They've won two in a row, but are still begging the question, just how far can this team go into the post season? The pitching is atrocious. Don't even get me started on our bullpen. Everytime Tavarez comes out onto the mound, I want to punch him right in his smug, acne-scarred face. This guy can't come into the game without giving up several runs. He's not doing his job as middle relief. The one shining spot in that bullpen is Papelbon. I can't say enough about him. It's the rest of the bullpen that really needs to step it up. Seanez and Tavarez, that means you. Stop losing games for us. Assholes.

Also, Manny Ramirez, where were you during the Twins series?? Dozing? In a coma? We need your bat. Even Varitek is being productive. Please show us you're worth the $20+ million a year you're getting. Thanks.

Grrr

Stupid rain. I got tickets on Thursday through the special Red Sox Nation Green Monster sale, and now the game is cancelled. I hate new England weather. Blah.

Yay for updates

So the boys finally squeaked out a win last night. It was good to see the young guys come in and throw some quality pitches to let the Sox win.

In other news, it is hotter than life. More updates when I find a place with an air conditioner.
