Welcome to The Yawkey News, a blog dedicated to keeping up-to-date with the latest news on the Boston Red Sox and Fenway Park.

Gotta mention the news from this week, of course; Theo Epstein is back with the Sox (as I prayed he would be), and now it seems the Sox are not as close to nabbing Coco Crisp as they were a few days ago. The Indians have asked for three Top 10 prospects in return. Giving up a proven closer (Guillermo Mota, although he reportedly failed a physical) and three possible future stars (Andy Marte, Kelly Shoppach and Manny Delcarmen) seems a bit much, even if the Sox are desperate for a centerfielder and lead-off hitter.
